Developing an attitude of gratitude

One of my wise teachers Grandma Twylah of the Native American Seneca people taught me a very important lesson.

” To live a balanced life, develop an attitude of gratitude!”

How true is that in our ever changing lives and chaotic world!

But why do it?

The benefits of expressing and feeling gratitude are truly limitless.

Better health and well being, improved authentic relationships, deeper satisfaction in work/life balance, quality sleep,  ability to deal with life’s ups and downs, emotional stability, spiritual insights, appreciating the ordinary in extraordinary ways..I could go on.

So the question is..

 What are you grateful for today? And why?

Just by naming and saying why  we are grateful ignites the pathway of neurons in our unconscious and conscious minds. We literally re-wire our minds and cells in our body to experience and FEEL GOOD

Attitude of gratitude heart

My 4 top tips to develop an attitude of gratitude are;

  1. Write a list  each day or as often as you can.
  2. Say “thank you” more often and really mean it!
  3. Have  a gratitude stone or crystal. This anchors good feelings and gratefulness.
  4. Take a couple of deep breathes and be glad you are alive.

To develop an attitude of gratitude in your life- I run drop in classes at Unity Studios Monday evening and the first Tuesday each month in Shoreham.

Thank you for being!
